Muktinath Temple

A famous pilgrimage site, Muktinath Temple is sacred to both Hindu and Buddhist devotees. Known as the god of liberation, Muktinath is worshipped as a form of Lord Vishnu by the Hindus and Avalokiteshwara by the Buddhists. The temple complex, also known as Mukti Kshetra, meaning place of liberation literally, also houses 108 holy water spouts where pilgrims take baths, and Jwala Mai Temple worshipped for its sacred flame fueled by natural gas among other attractions. Also on the premises are the Buddha statue and the picturesque garden.

Kagbeni

Known as the gateway to Upper Mustang, Kagbeni is also a sacred site for the Hindus as they pay homage to their ancestors on the bank of Kali Gandaki River. Nilgiri Mountain shines down to the inner core of the village filled with ancient deities as well as the outskirts filled with apple orchards and millet yards. Picturesque on its own, this village is a reflection of Tibetan architecture and life, still preserved within the monasteries, houses, and alleys.

Tiji Festival

The Tiji Festival is a sacred and vibrant annual celebration held in Lo Manthang, Upper Mustang, Nepal during the month of May.
