Garden of Dreams
Built in the 1920s by Field Marshall Kaiser Shumsher, Garden of Dreams is an oasis of its kind in Kathmandu. The neo-classical garden is located inside the Kaiser Mahal and was later restored with the help of the Government of Austria. Stroll around the pavilions, watch the squirrels and birds, read a book, or just relax around the pond area, the garden is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. And the best part? It is just 5 minutes away of walking distance from our hotel.

Asan Bazaar & Indra Chowk
Visit the oldest bazaars of Kathmandu Valley – Asan and Indra Chowk, where you can shop anything and everything, from spices to local fabrics, to candles to metalcrafts. Both of these squares open up for business from early in the morning, where you can experience the real farmers’ market, followed by tea stalls, and finally, the shops opening. Do not forget to appreciate the beautiful facades of the houses, along the street from Asan to Indra Chowk and enjoy the famous delicacies like Janakpurko Lassi.

Swayambhu Stupa
A 40-minute walk towards the West from the hotel, and you will find yourself in awe of Swayambhunath, the famous Monkey Temple. Reach a bit early in the morning, and you can enjoy the sunrise, observe the locals offering prayers to Swayambhunath and Harati Ajima, and listen to the bhajans, and devotional songs. If you have time, go to the next hill of Maha Manjushree and visit the local Buddhist monastery there. You can also visit the Natural History Museum located nearby while you’re there.

Kathmandu Durbar Square
One of the famous cultural sites of Kathmandu, the Durbar Square area, also known as Basantapur is known for its temples, the Hanumandhoka Museum, and monuments such as Kasthamandap. Kumari Ghar, the house of the Living Goddess is also located here, along with a few Newa Buddhist monasteries like Sikhamu Baha and Lyaku Baha. You can reach the Durbar Square by walking 5 minutes further from Indra Chowk or take a rickshaw ride from the hotel.

Narayanhiti Palace Museum
Former Royal Palace turned museum, Narayanhiti Palace Museum used to be home to the Shah Kings of Nepal. Now, it showcases how the royal family used to live before Nepal became a republic state in 2006. From the ceremonial halls to the gardens, the museum is now open to the public and houses the royal crown known as Sripech and the golden chariot amongst other attractions. Narayanhiti Palace Museum is right across the Garden of Dreams.
